Hi, I'm Tammy.

I'm an MBACP registered counsellor and psychotherapist based in the UK, offering online counselling in English and Mandarin. My work is grounded in the belief that healing often begins when we feel genuinely heard, understood, and accepted.

My background

Growing up in Taiwan and later building a life in the UK has given me a deep appreciation of how culture shapes our identity, relationships, and sense of belonging.

Living between cultures has helped me understand some of the unique challenges people face when adapting to a new country, navigating different expectations, or trying to find a place where they feel at home.

This experience informs my practice, but I never assume your story is the same as mine. Instead, I remain curious about what your own experiences mean to you.

Why I became a therapist

For many years I worked as a teacher. Looking back, what stayed with me was not the lessons I taught, but the conversations I had with students after class.

Those moments taught me that people often don't need someone to have all the answers. They need someone willing to listen, to stay with them in uncertainty, and to understand their experience without judgement.

That realisation gradually led me to retrain as a counsellor. Today, I continue to value those same qualities in my work: curiosity, compassion, and genuine human connection.

A bit about me

Outside of counselling, I enjoy walking, cooking, reading, and writing. I find these quiet moments restorative, and they remind me of the importance of slowing down and staying connected to the things that matter.
