Online Counselling in English & Mandarin

Supporting adults through grief, life transitions, anxiety and relationship challenges.

Hi, I'm Tammy (Yun-Ting Chou), an MBACP registered counsellor and psychotherapist based in the UK. I offer online counselling in English and Mandarin.

I have a particular interest in supporting people experiencing grief and bereavement. I believe loss changes us, and while it cannot be taken away, it does not have to be carried alone.

How I Work

Therapy is not only about talking.

It is also about experiencing what it feels like to be listened to without judgement, to be understood, and to build a relationship where you don't have to hide parts of yourself. Together, we will explore your experiences, deepen your understanding of yourself, and work towards meaningful and lasting change.

My work is rooted in relational and humanistic approaches. I believe healing happens through a genuine therapeutic relationship where you feel accepted, understood, and safe enough to explore difficult experiences.

I also draw on psychodynamic thinking and CBT where helpful, tailoring therapy to your individual needs.

Growing up in Taiwan and now living and practising in the UK has shaped the way I understand culture, identity, and belonging. I value working in a culturally sensitive way and recognise that our backgrounds influence how we experience ourselves, our relationships, and the world around us.

What to expect from working with me:

  • A warm, collaborative relationship

  • A safe, non-judgemental space

  • Therapy tailored to your needs

  • A balance of reflection and practical support

Areas I work with include:

  • Grief & bereavement

  • Anxiety & stress

  • Relationship difficulties

  • Life transitions

  • Trauma

  • Cultural identity & immigration

You might be wondering...

I've never had therapy before. Is that okay?

Absolutely. Many people I work with are new to therapy. You don't need to know where to start—we'll begin wherever feels right for you.

What if I don't know what to say?

That's completely okay. There is no right or wrong way to begin. We'll go at a pace that feels comfortable, and we can take our time making sense of what's on your mind.

Can I speak Mandarin?

Yes. I offer counselling in both English and Mandarin. You're welcome to speak in whichever language feels most natural, or even move between the two.

How do I know if we're the right fit?

That's one of the reasons I offer a free 20-minute consultation. It gives us a chance to meet, talk about what you're looking for, and see whether working together feels right for you.

Schedule a free consultation

I offer a free 20-minute consultation if you are considering therapy but aren't sure whether it's the right step for you.

This is an opportunity for us to get to know each other, talk about what has brought you here, and explore your needs and expectations for therapy.

It is also an opportunity for you to ask questions, learn more about how I work, and decide whether we feel like the right fit.
